Signature : Higo koku ju Akamatsu Taro Kanehiro Saku
Heisei 2 nen 6 gatsu Kichijitsu(June 1990)

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Akamatsu Taro Kanehiro belongs to Jyojyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 73.5 cm or 28.93 inches.
Sori : 1.9 cm or 0.74 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.59 cm or 1.41 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 3.19 cm or 1.25 inches.
Kasane : 0.72 cm or 0.28 inches.
Era : Modern(1990).
Shape : It is wide and thick blade with long kissaki.
Bo-Hi is on both side, front side: Sankozukaken, back side: Gomabashi.
Jitetsu :Itame hada well grained with jinie attached.
It is flawless well grained jigane
Hamon : Nie base gunome midare with ashi well attached.
It is very fine sunagashi and kinsuji work.

Special feature : Akamatsu Taro Kanesuke, his real name Kimura Karu,
was born in Showa 36th year at Yashiro city, Kumamoto prefecture.
He has imitated many swords from Kiyomaro. Most are wide
and long kissaki swords which is seen from overseas too.
He has received award of excellence and award of effort at Shinsakuto exhibition.
He has brothers Kanetsugu and Kaneteru and make steel at there own way
which is unlike that of the tatara iron that is made in the sword museum.
It is dark Kyushu jigane. It is well polished sword and made with many effort.
We could say that it is a masterpiece.
It is wide and thick long kissaki magnificent katana. We recommend this piece.
