Sasaho Yari in Shirasaya(NBTHK Hozon Paper)

Signature : Nouto no kami Fujiwara Yasuyuki (First generation)
Kanei 14th year August

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 32.12cm or 12.64inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.57cm or 1.4inches.
Era : Edo Period Kanei 14th year(1617)
Shape : Sasaho yari shape. Long and firm shape.
Jitetsu :Koitame hada well grained with komokume mix.
There are jinie attached. IT is nice clear jigane.
Hamon : Nie base suguha with mix of koashi.

Special feature : Fujiwara Yasuyuki was a sword smith that moved to
Owari Nagoya from Mino. There are unusual backside
signature of Kanei 14th(1617) August.
It is very appealing piece of work.
