Yari : Shimosaka


Yari in Shirasaya

Signature : Shimosaka.

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 27.6 cm or 10.86 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.41cm or 0.94 inches.
Kasane : 1.04 cm or 0.40 inches.
Era : Early Edo period.
Shape : The blade is sankaku yari(Triangle shape) rather long shape.
Jitetsu : Itame hada and massage had mixed well grained with jinie attach and visible to see the texture.
Hamon : Niedeki Hitatsura hamon and gunome midare.

Special feature : First of all Shimosaka was working as a group of sword makers in Echizen province.
The most famous sword maker was Yasutusugu.
Some sword makers belonged to Shimosaka, moved to other districts and said Shimosaka.
This Yari is wildish tough Jigane and active Hamon.
