Katana in Shirasaya, with Koshirae (58th NBTHK Juyo paper) (NBTHK Hozon Paper for Kozuka and Kogai)

Signature : Mumei (Aoe) Daimyo Ookubo family's sword.

Origami : By Honami Kocyu : Dai kinsu 150 Kan.
Aoe Syosin length 2syaku 3 sun hyori(both sides of the blade engraved Bo-Hi)
Genroku 11 Nen Tora U tuki 3rd Honami Kaou.

Syowa 13th 11gatsu (October)This sword was sold ¥1390en
¥1390 = about 15,000,000 if change the currency to modern times.

The blade was polished
Habaki : Silver double habaki.
Blade length : 69 cm or 27.16 inches.
Sori : 1.5 cm or 0.59 inches.
Mekugi : 3
Width at the hamachi : 3.05 cm or 1.20 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.26 cm or 0.88 inches.
Kasane : 0.54 cm or 0.21 inches.
Era : Nanbokucyo period.
Shape : The blade is oosuriage mumei(cut shortened) with bo-hi is engraved on both sides of the blade.
The blade is wide and thick with nice sori and long kissaki nice looking shape.
Jitetsu : Koitame had and komokume mixed with jinie attach with sumihada appear and also clear Utsuri appear.
Hamon : Koniedeki suguha with kasha and yo work.
Boshi is slack and round shape.

Special feature : Aoe school started from Late Heian period to Nanbokucyo period.
This sword was made around Nanbokucyo period.
The blade is Midare utasuri nag sumihada appear and typical aoe style boshi.
According to the Jyuyo zufu, the blade is healthy and good keeping blade from ancient period and also the Kantei of the Kocyu Origami is quite right.(58 Jyuyo Zufu)
This sword was succeeded by Ookubo Daimyo family but the sword was sold.
By Ookubo family the viscount (he became the viscount at meiji period)in Syowa period.
The sword was sold at the auction which was held by Heizando at 8th of November syouwa 13th(1938).
The sword accompanied with Kocyu origami which is very precious paper and also Heizando's receipt.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : On the round shape iron stub, shish dogs and peony flowers are engraved with gold color.
Fuchikashira : On the syakudo nanako plate, a shish dog is engraved with gold and silver color.
Saya : Black ishimeji saya.
Menuki : Shish dog is engraved by sold gold?
Kozuka, Kogai : NBTHK Hozon Paper, Mumei (Kyo-Kinko)
