Katana: Fujishima with Tachi Koshirae using solid gold fittings

Katana in Shirasaya with Tachi Koshirae using solid gold fittings. (NBTHK Tokubetsu Kicho paper) (guarantee : NBTHK Hozon paper)

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijo saku, Jojo saku Jo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jojo saku ranking.

The blade is polished.
Habaki :gold foiled single Habaki.
Blade length : 70.4 cm or 27.7 inches.
Sori : 2.8 cm or 1.1 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the Hamachi : 2.74 cm or 1.08 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.73 cm or 0.68 inches.
Kasane : 0.61 cm or 0.24 inches.
Era : Early Muromachi period.
Shape : The blade has slightly Suriage and Machiokuri with elegant deep curve and standard Kissaki style.
Jigane : Itame-hada well grained with Jinie attach. Texture can be seen well.
Shinogiji : Itame-hada well grained. Seems to be traditional Muku-gitae style. (not containing Shingane.)
Hamon : Koniedeki Suguha mainly and Ko-Gunome-Midare and small Choji-Midare mixed. There are many Sunagashi, Asi and Yo work.
Boshi is Midarekomi Hakikake style and turns back very deep.
Special feature : Fujishima school started from late Kamakura period and continued up to mid Muromachi period.
The blade must be made at early Muromachi period.
The sword is having elegant deep curve nice looking shape.
Fujishima school is a branch of Rai school so the blade is having well grained Rai style Jigane. Hamon is active, elegant and fine.

Koshirae : Gorgeous Tachi koshirae using solid gold fittings.
Saya : Aoi (hollyhock) family crest painted with gold Nashiji Iroe.

This Koshirae fittings are all made from sold gold.
If the Jigane was suning 18 carat gold(75% purity), the market price for 1 gram is ¥3,535 (JPY) today so the total price will be around ¥2,000,000 (JPY) excluding any crafting charge.
Craftmen in Japan usually use 18 carat gold(75% purity) for making such kind of fittings because those are easy to make.

Big Seppa : 2 pieces : 97 grams.
Fuchi : 29 grams.
Kashira : about 35 grams.
Kojiri : about 35 grams.
