Tanto : Ietsugu (Kashu)

Tanto in Shirasaya, with Koshirae(NBTHK Hozon paper)

Signature: Ietsugu (Kashu)
The blade was polished.
Habaki:silver single habaki.
Blade length : 23.8 cm or 9.37 inches.
Sori : 0 cm or 0 inches.
Mekugi: 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.21 cm or 0.87 inches.
Kasane : 0.55 cm or 0.21 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period Eisyo era.
Shape : The blade is regular size uchizori style.
Jitetsu :Itame hada and mokume hada mixed
with jinie attach well grained texture.
Hamon : From the Hamachi, suguha and then gunome midair with thick nioikuchi hamon.
Boshi is round shape with thick nioikuchi and turns back
yakisage style to Munemachi area. In Hamon soft ash work.

Special feature : The founder of the Ietsugu started from late Nanbokucyo period to late Muromachi.
This Ietsugo was working at Eisyo era who is called Kaga Aoe.
The Jigane is quite well and thick nioikuchi hamon . The blade is very attractive.
Generally Kaga Ietsugu Hamon is gunome midair hamon
but this blade is wide and thick nioikuchi like Sosyu style.
