Katana in Koshirae(NBTHK Hozon Paper)

Signature : Bizen koku Ju Osafune Sukesada saku
Eisho 2 nen 8 gatsu hi (August 1505)

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jojo Saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : gold foiled double Hanaki with family crest.
Blade length : 66.6 cm or 26.22 inches.
Sori : 2.0 cm or 0.78 inches.
Mekugi :  1
Width at the hamachi : 2.78 cm or 1.09 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.09 cm or 0.82 inches.
Kasane : 0.64 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era : Muromachi period around Eisho era.
Shape : Regular size blade with Bo-Hi on both side.
Katateuchi shape Katana.
Jigane : Ko-Itame hada and Mokume Hada mix with Jinie.
There are Utsuri on the Ji.
Hamon : Ko-Nie Deki, Choji Midare and Juka Choji Midare.
There are many Ashi and Yo.

Special feature : Bizen koku ju Osafune Sukesada has flourished during late Muromachi period.
Sukesada made many mass productive items.
This blade is not mass production. This has been very carefully made.
At first glance, it remind Morokage(around Ouei era) blade.
The Sori is elegant. And also, nice Hada with Utsuri. Hamon is gorgeous.

Koshirae :
Saya : black Roiro Saya with belt shaped design.
Tsuba : Mokko shape Shakudo Nanako Tsuba, dragon is engraved with gold color.
Menuki : Flower is engraved (solid gold?)
Fuchikashira : Shakudo, dragon is engraved.
Kojiri : gold color.
Kozuka : Shakudo Nanako with dragon.There is a signature "Goto Denjo".
Kogai : Shakudo Nanako with dragon.There is a signature "Goto Denjo".
