Katana in Shirasaya with Koshirae (NBTHK Kicho paper)

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 63.1cm or 24.84inches.
Sori : 1.2cm or 0.47inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.9cm or 1.14inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.8cm or 0.7inches.
Kasane : 0.63cm or 0.25inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period.
Shape : It is wide and thick regular size katana.
Jitetsu : Itame hada well grained with jinie attached.
Hamon : Constructed in nie structure,
the hamon becomes gunome midare line.
There are some mixture of sharp gunome midare
with sunagashi attached in the ha. Boushi is round
end with the tip brush up style.

Special feature : Kaneyoshi school is a Mino province sword smith group active from Nanbokucho period to Late Muromachi period. From the hamon and jigane work, this sword most likely made by the sword smith from late Muromachi period. It is firm piece of work.

Tsuba : Iron Tsuba
Fuchikashira : Shakudo Nanako, peony is engraved with gold and copper color.
Saya : Black color.
Menuki : Tiger and leopard are engraved with gold color.
