Katana in Shirasaya (NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Paper)

Signature : Mumei (Cho Aritoshi)

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku, Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jyojyo saku ranking.

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 68.4 cm or 26.92 inches.
Sori : 2.0 cm or 0.78 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.6 cm or 1.02 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.67 cm or 0.65 inches.
Kasane : 0.61cm or 0.24 inches.
Era : Nanbokucyo period Kenmu era.
Shape : The blade is oosuriage mumei (cut shortened) attributed as Cyo Aritoshi.
Jitetsu : Itame hada well grained masa nagare and chikei work.
Hamon : Niedeki suguha and inside of the blade has ashi, Yo work.

Special feature : Yamato school devide, Tegai, Shikkake, Senjyuin,Ho syo and Taima schoo.
All these school made swords for the temple's priest soldiers.
Probably sword smith made a lot of swords for the priest soldiers.
Almost of all swords are not mentioned the signature on the nakago.
This sword is Taima school active Jigane and hamon.
The blade is elegant nice Jigane.
