Katana in Koshirae.(NBTHK Hozon Paper)

Signature : Mumei (unsigned) attributed as Monjyu.

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword Mumei Monjyu belongs to Jyo saki ranking.
The blade was polished
Habaki :copper single.
Blade length : 73.6 cm or 28.97 inches.
Sori : 1.4 cm or 0.55 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.9 cm or 1.14 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.95 cm or 0.76 inches.
Kasane : 0.67 cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period.
Shape : The blade is regular size with small sori.
Jitetsu :iktame had and mokume had mixed
with jinie attach and visible to see the texture.
Hamon : Niedeki with thick nioikuchi noter gunome and double hamon.
In hamon, there are many sunagashi and kinsuji work.

Special feature : Monjyu school is a main stream of the Tegai school.
This school is reported as that Tegai Kanetsugu was made the Ken for Monjyu
Bosatsu at Hannya temple.
This sword looks like Dotanuki school.
The blade is wildish active unusual blade.

Tsuba :On the thick round shape iron stub, some design is engraved open work.
Bushu Ju Sadanaga Late Edo period.
Fuchikashira :On the iron plate, some design is painted by gold color.
Saya : black roar saya.
Menuki : brass plate.
