Katana Mumei (Tametsugu)

Katana in Shirasaya (NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Paper)

Signature:Mumei(unsigned) attributed as Tametsugu.
The blade was polished
Habaki:silver single habaki.
Blade length :70.3 cm or 27.67 inches.
Sori : 1.4 cm or 0.55 inches.
Mekugi: 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.72 cm or 1.07 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.81 cm or 0.71 inches.
Kasane : 0.62cm or 0.24 inches.
Era :Nanbokucyo period.
Shape : The blade is oosuriage mumei(unsigned)(cut shortened) the blade is regular size.
Jitetsu :itame hada well grained with jinie attach and chikei work visible to see the texture.
Hamon : Niedeki gunome with thick nioikuchi and noter hamon mixed.
Boshi is ichimai style. In Ha, there are many sunagashi and kinsuji sactter.

Special feature : Tametsugu is reported as a son of the Go Yoshihiro
and studied under the Norishige.
His subjects are gunome midair with thick nioikuchi ooitame hada.
This sword is very active wild feeling sosyu style jigane and hamon.
Boshi is unusual 1 mai(kissaki is all hamon).
