Katana in Shirasaya (NBTHK Hozon Token)

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Nagamitsu belongs Jyo saku to ranking.
The blade was polished by good polisher.
Habaki : Silver single habaki.
Blade length : 65 cm or 25.6 inches.
Sori :1.7cm or 0.67 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 4.1cm or 1.61 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 3.52 cm or 1.39 inches.
Kasane :0.83 cm or 0.32 inches.
Era : Showa era during WWII.
Shape : The blade is very wide and thick with deep Sori long Kissaki gorgeous nice shape.
Jigane : Koitame hada well grained with Jinie attach beautiful texture.
Hamon : Niedeki Suguha with small Ashi. Boshi is Midarekomi style.
Special feature : During WWII, Emura Shigetarou, the general manager of Okayama prison invited sword smith Nagamitsu for making swords in Okayama prison.
Emura was concentrated to prisoner's rehabilitation and collected honest prisoner to educate them with help of Nagamitsu.
Nagamitsu was also a member of the army sword making craftsman
and got the prize for army sword technical fosterage.
This sword was polished perfectly and well balanced huge width and nice Jigane.
