Katana: Shinano Kami Fujiwara Daido

Katana in Shirasaya with Koshirae.
Signature : Shinano Kami Fujiwara Daido
Shinto : Chujo saku : Mino province.
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijo saku, Jojo saku, Jo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jo Saku ranking.

The blade is polished.
Habaki : Silver single Habaki.
Blade length : 70 cm or 27.6 inches.
Sori : 1.2 cm or 0.47 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the Hamachi : 2.95 cm or 1.16 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.32 cm or 0.91 inches.
Kasane : 0.7 cm or 0.28 inches.
Era : Edo period Keian era.
Shape : The blade is rather wide and thick with small curve and longer Kissaki.
Jigane : Koitame-hada well grained with Jinie attach nice fine texture.
Shinogi-ji : Itame-hada Masanagare Shinto texture.
Hamon : Niedeki Choji-midare Hamon up and down.
Sunagashi work Active. Boshi turns back Midarekomi style.
Special feauture : Shinano Kami Fujiwara Daido belongs to Mino school and active during Kanei to Kanbun era. So the Kissaki becomes rather longer than Kanbun shape.
This sword is very active temper line and mild well grained Jigane which mach well. The blade is healthy without any Kizu or flaw.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : Round shape iron tsuba with some open work.
Fuchi-kashira : Signature mentioned as Masatoshi. Several sparrows resting on the rice stalk are carved on Shakudo plate.
Saya : Black Roiro Saya.
Menuki : Shishi carved on Shakudo plate.
