Katana in Koshirae(NBTHK Hozon Paper)

Signature : Taira Moriie (Takada school)
Daiei 8 nen 8 gatsu hi (August 1528)

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 60.8 cm or 23.93 inches.
Sori : 2.2 cm or 0.86 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.98 cm or 1.17 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.95 cm or 0.76 inches.
Kasane : 0.66 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era : Muromachi period around Daiei era (1528).
Shape : Regular size Katana. There are Bo-Hi on both side.
Jitetsu : Ko-Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Suguha with Notare-Ha and double-Ha.
There are Ko-Ashi and Yo. The thick Nioikuchi around Monouchi part.
Boshi is Hakikake Fu style.

Special feature : Taira Moriie is a sword smith of Takada school.
He is a son of Shigeyuki who is disciple of Tomoyuki.
He made many swords. This is rare that blade has signature "Daiei 8 nen 8 gatsu hi (August 1528)"
This is precious picece of Taira Takada.

Koshirae : healthy Koshirae.
Tsuba : Shakudo Nanako, the tiger and bamboo leaf are engraved.
Fuchikashira :Shakudo, gold and silver color. looks Higo style.
Saya : Black Roiro Saya with blue shell.
Menuki : straw rice bag and rat are engraved with gold color.
