Houtoku 2nen 10 gatsu hi (October 1450)

The blade was polished
Habaki : gold foiled double habaki.
Blade length : 62.27 cm or 24.51 inches.
Sori : 1.8 cm or 0.70 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.82 cm or 1.11 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.755 cm or 0.69 inches.
Kasane : 0.6 cm or 0.23 inches.
Era : Muromachi period around Hotoku koro(1450)
Shape : regular size healthy blade. Katate Uchi Katana.
Jitetsu : Ko-Itame Hada and Ko-Mokume Hada well grained with Jinie attach.
Hamon : Chu-Suguha, the upper parts is Ko-Notare. And there are many Ashi and Yo.
Nioiguchi is soft style.

Special feature : Bishu Osafune Hidekage worked actively during Oei to Ounin.
His style is different from Bizen style at that time. The blade looks like blade of late Kamakura period.
The Jigane is quite nice. There are Chikei, Utsuri and a lot of works.
Boshi is Notare Midarekomi style. This blade is very healthy.

Koshirae : in good condition.
Tsuba : Elliptically Shaped Shakudo Tsuba, some design is engraved with gold color.
Fuchikashira : Shakudo Nanako, flower is engraved with gold color.
Saya : Kairagi Saya.
Menuki : Shakudo, flower is engraved with gold color.
