Tanto in Shirasaya (NBTHK Hozon Paper)

Signature: Kanenori

Suekotou: Chuujousaku: Mino
The blade was polished.
Habaki: Gold double foil habaki.
Blade length : 29.8cm or 11.73 inches.
Sori : 0.2cm or 0.07 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.67 cm or 1.05 inches.
Kasane : 0.58cm or 0.22 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period.
Shape : It is wide and thick firmly made nice shape tanto.
Jitetsu : Itame hada well grained with jinie attached. On the ji, shirake utsuri appear.
Hamon : Konie base gonome mix. It is active ha and tobiyaki(spots of tempering in the ji) in the ha. The boshi is round with
hakikake(brushing).

Special feature : Kanenori is a Mino swordsmith successful during Eisho period(1504-1520) of Muromachi era.
This blade is healthy blade and there are no kizu or flaw compared to other Mino pieces.
