Explanation: This Tanto was holder by Komaki Wasuke at 1912 December.

This Oumi Suke Minamoto Taneaki. belongs to Jyo-saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
habaki: silver single habaki.
Blade length : 22.5cm or 8.85 inches.
Sori : 0.0 cm or 0 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 1.38 cm or 0.54 inches.
Kasane : 1.1 cm or 0.43 inches.
Era : Taisho period.
Shape : The blade is typical Taisyo era navy style Tanto.
Jitetsu :Muji style tight jigane.
Hamon : Nioideki rather thick nioikuchi. Boshi is round shape.

Special feature : Horii Taneaki is 2nd generation of the Horii Taneyoshi.
He studied from his father and Gassan Sadakazu.
His son succeeded 3rd generation Horii Toshihide who is quite well wordsmith
during Showa period and also 4th generation is Horii Nobuhide succeeded Horii family.
The owner of this Tanto wa Wasuke Komaki was born
at Meiji 17th December 10. and passed away at August 20th 19 32.
He was a navy captain of the battle ship Yamashiro.
