Tanto in Koshirae

Signature: Seiryushi Kanemasa Motte Kinseizan Yamatetsu Zou No.
(Kanemasa made a Tanto by using Mt Kinseizan mountain sand.)
Heisei 10 Nen 8 gatsu Kichijitsu.(1998 August lucky day)

The blade was polished.
habaki:gold foiled single habaki.
Blade length : 27.5 cm or 10.82 inches.
Sori :0.1 cm or 0.039 inches.
Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi :2.7 cm or 1.06 inches.
Kasane : 0.68 cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : Gendai(modern times) period.
Shape : The blade is wide and thick healthy blade.
Jitetsu :Itame hada well grained with Masame mixed jinie attach and chikei work.
Hamon : Niedeki gunome midair with thick nioikuchi.
In Hamon, there are many ash, Yo sunagashi and also Kinsuji sactter.
Boshi is hakikake style.

Special feature : Seiryushi Kanemasa was born at Taisyo 12th Gifu prefecture.
He studied under the Morita Kaneshige.
He got many prizes like Doryokusyo and Nyusen prize 17 times.
I think he made this sword by imitated Norishige Koto blade.
This blade is his top ranking sword which is active variety hamon
with kinsuji, sunagashi. Generally japanese sword makers use Japanese iron
for making swords by using NBTHK iron but some sword makers use their own tamahagane
by using his own Tatara. So compare the Tamahagane NBTHK
and his own tamahagane, is quite differences appear.
This Tanto was made by Mt Kinseizan iron sand. so the Jigane is different from NBTHK Tatara sand.
