Jidai(era) :Edo Period

Special feature:On Kawari-Gata iron tsuba, wave and Fuji flower or wisteria is engraved and inlayed with gold.
Tachi-shi, primarily made tsubas applied to the craftsmanship producing Buddhist altar metal fittings in the Heian period. The technique had been succeeded to the late Edo period. As compared with Tosho-tsuba or Kachushi-tsuba, it is decorative rather than practical.
This piece has powerful comma shaped Fuji flower engraved and inlayed with gold. It is masterpiece.
