Wakizashi: Bishu Osafune Norimistu

Wakizashi in Shirasaya with Koshirae.(NBTHK Hozon Paper)

Signature : Bishu Osafune Norimistu
Kakitsu 4 nen 2 gatsu hi (Feburary 1444)

Chu Koto: Chu Jo Saku: Ryo Wazamono: Bizen province.
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Gold foiled single Habaki.
Blade length : 56.9 cm or 22.40 inches.
Sori : 1.9 cm or 0.74 inches.
Mekugi :  4(2 filled)
Width at the hamachi : 2.62 cm or 1.03 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.87 cm or 0.73 inches.
Kasane : 0.61 cm or 0.24 inches.
Era : Muromachi period, around Kakistu era.
Shape : Regular size, aather Suriage Wakizashi.
There are Bo-Hi, Soe-Hi, Bonji(Sanskrit characters).
Jigane : Ko-Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach.
There are Chikei and Utsuri. The typical Oei Bizen Jigane.
Hamon : Ko-Nie Deki, Choji Midare. There are many Ko-Ashi and Yo.
Boshi is Midarekomi style.

Special feature :The founder of the Norimitsu started from late Kamakura period to Muromachi period.
This sword was made around Kakistu era(1441-1444) by Goro Zaemon .
The Jigane is beautiful and typical Oei Bizen. The Hamon is brilliant Choji Midare.
This blade is rather Suriage. But the blade is healthy.
This is a masterpiece of Katate Uchi O-Wakizashi.
We recommend this wakizashi.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : round shape iron Tsuba, dragon and cloud are engraved.
Fuchikashira : Shakudo, plants design is engraved with gold color.
Saya: Aogai Chirashi(blue shell) Saya.
Menuki : Shakudo, leaf and crab are engraved with gold Uttori.
