Wakizashi : (Kiku mon) Izumi no Kami Rai Kinmichi

Wakizashi in Shirasaya (NBTHK Tokubetsu Kicho Paper)

Signature : (Kiku mon) Izumi no Kami Rai Kinmichi.

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saki)This Izumi Kami Rai Kinmichi belongs to
Jyo-jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki :copper single iroe habaki.
Blade length :  49.4cm or 19.44 inches.
Sori : 1cm or 0.39 inches.
Mekugi :  1
Width at the hamachi :2.98cm or 1.17 inches.
Width at the Kissaki: 2.15 or 0.84 inches.
Kasane : 0.74cm or 0.29 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period.
Shape: It is wide and thick with rather long Kissaki.
Hamon: Starting from suguha from the Hamachi area,
the hamon gradually becomes suguha.
There is Sunagashi and fine Kinsuji work attached. Boshi is Midarekomi style.

Special feature :Izumo Kami Rai Kinmichi was a stream of Mino Kanemichi.
Student of the Kanemichi were Iga Kami Kinmichi and Hujiwara Rai Kinmichi.
This sword smith Rai Kinmichi is 3rd generation Hujiwara Rai Kinmichi
and continued to 4th and 5th generation.
This is typical Izumi no kami Rai Kinmichi blade and very healthy.

Historical background: At the end of Kanbun era, Date sod finished.
(battle inside of the Date family) This sword is healthy
