Katana : Mumei(Enjyu)

Katana in Shirasaya, with Koshirae(NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon paper)

Signature : Mumei(unsigned) attributed as Enjyu.

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Mumei(unsigned) attributed as Enjyu. belongs to Jyo-Jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished by good polisher.
Habaki:Gold foiled single habaki.

Blade length : 63.63 cm or 25.05 inches.
Sori : 1.62 cm or 0.63 inches.
Mekugi : 4
Width at the hamachi : 2.7cm or 1.06 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.84 cm or 0.72 inches.
Kasane : 0.54 cm or 0.21inches.
Era : Late Kamakura to early Nanbokucyo period.
Shape : The blade is oo-suruage (cut shortened) with Bo-Hi is engraved
on both sides of the blade with deep sori and longer kissaki nice looking shape.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada well grained with jinie attach and chikei work.
Beautiful texture remind us Hizen Tadahiro.
Probably Hizen sword makers learned a lot from Enjyu beautiful texture.
Hamon : Konie deko suguha hamon with koashi work.

Special feature : Enjyu Kunomura was a student of the Rai Kunitoshi and moved to
Kyusyu Kikuchi province. He became a sword maker of the Kikuchi Daimyo family and educated many students like Kunuyasu. Kuninobu Kunitoki and so on.
These sword makers used 2 signature maiinly.
Even though the blade is suriage, the blade is elegant shape
and also nice fantastic suguha Jigane and Hamon.

Tsuba :Mokko style tsuna, some design are engraved.
Fuchikashira :Shibuichi plate.
Saya : Black roiro saya.
Menuki : Saihai is engraved by syakudo with gold color.
