Katana in Shirasaya(NBTHK Tokubetsu Kicho paper)

Signature : Ryuhai Ise kami Kuniteru
Hoei 4 Hinoto-I nen Chushu Kichijitsu(The middle of autumn 1707)

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Ise kami Kuniteru belongs to Jyojyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 74.0 cm or 29.13 inches.
Sori : 2.0 cm or 0.78 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.31 cm or 1.30 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.31 cm or 0.90 inches.
Kasane : 0.82 cm or 0.32 inches.
Era : Edo period around Hoei era.
Shape : Wide and thick blade with long Kissaki. nice shape Katana.
Jitetsu : Ko-Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attached. There are Chikei.
This is beautiful Osaka Jigane.
Hamon : Nide Deki Gunome Midare with deep Nioikuchi.
In Ha, there are Sunagashi and Kinsuji. Boshi is Notare round Hakikake shape.

Special feature : Kobayashi Isekami Kuniteru was called Kobayashi Hayatonosin
who was second son of the Ise Kami Kuniyoshi.
First he studied from first generation Kunisuke and then got the title of Ise Kami at Kanbun 12th.
Many his works have deep Nioikuchi Gunome Midare and Doran-ba.
This blade is a different of his typical work.
This Hamon is Gunome Midare with some ups and downs on the Ha and Yahazu Midare.
This blade recored in book of Shinto Taikan(p.233).
This blade recored in book of Oosaka Shinto Zufu(p.407) too.
The book said that this blade was made around in his final years,
the blade is dynamic and masterpiece.
