Jidai(era) : Edo Period

Special feature:  Round shape iron tsuba with design from the famous Chinese anecdote of Shiba Onko is engraved and inlayed with gold in cloth pattern. While children were playing around one of them fall into a water jar. To save the drowning friend, one smart one saved him by cracking the jar and saved his life. The one who saved was the Shima Onko who is a famous confucian at the time.
The fine cloth inlay pattern is also beautiful.
