Katana: Bizen koku Ju Osafune Suke

Katana in Koshirae (NBTHK Hozon Paper)
Signature: Bizen koku Ju Osafune Suke (ikakire) (Sukesada)
Eiroku 10nen 2gatu (ikakire)

The blade need polish(polishing cost: 40,000JPY)
Habaki : Gold color iroe double habaki.
Blade length : 65.15 cm or 25.64 inches.
Sori : 1.95 cm or 0.76 inches.
Mekugi:2
Width at the hamachi : 3.09 cm or 1.21 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.25 cm or 0.88 inches.
Kasane : 0.76 cm or 0.29 inches.
Era : Muromachi period. Eiroku era (1567).
Shape :The blade is rather wide and rather small sized bs kasane with deep sori nice looking shape.
Jitetsu :Itame hada and Mokume hada mixed with jinie attach with Utsuri appear.
Hamon : Niedeki suguha based with gunome midare mixed. In Ha there are yo, sunagashi and kinsuji.
Boshi is hakikake.
            
Special feature : NBTHK judged this sword as Bizen koku Ju Osafune Sukesada.
Sukesada and Kiyomitsu were both working at late Muromachi period and made accountable swords also exported Japanese swords to China and Korea.
The best quality swords is called Chumonuchi sword (Daimyo class ordered special quality sword which were mentioned Zokumyo (real sword maker's name) and then upper class was called Bizen Koku like this sword and  mass productive swords like Bishu Osafune .
This blade is healthy but there are a few small rusts on Jitetsu, but quite easy to remove.
If you want to ask us to polish this sword, additional polishing cost will be JPY40,000.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : On the iron plate, ocean waves are engraved.
Fuchikashira : Iron Muji style  (solid style).
Saya : Kawarinuri saya.
Menuki : On the shakudo plate, rice plant is engraved with gold color iroe.
