Katana: Fujiwara Kanenaga

Katana in Shirasaya with Koshirae.(NBTHK Hozon paper)

Signature : Fujiwara Kanenaga.

Sayagagi: Unknown
Katana Fujiwara Kanenaga. Around Enpo era. Blade length is 74.1cm.
Itame Hada with Togari Gunome. Kissaki Hakikake round shape.
Sesshu Osaka Shinto, likes Yamato, Tegai school Yakidashi and Boshi style. Nice blade. in October 2005.

Shinto:Cyujyo saku:Wazamono cutting test ranking:Settsu province.
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jyo-Jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished by high ranking polisher.
Habaki :silver single habaki.
Blade length : 74.1 cm or 29.17 inches.
Sori :1.8cm or 0.70 inches.
Mekugi : 2 
Width at the hamachi : 3.24cm or 1.27 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.225 cm or 0.87 inches.
Kasane : 0.64cm or 0.25 inches.
Era : Edo period Enpo era.
Shape : The blade is wide and thick
with rather deep sori and longer kissaki nice looking shape.
Jigane :Itame hada well grained with jinie attach nice texture.
Hamon :From Hamachi area, deep nioikuchi suguha and then gunome midare,
Togari gunome mixed with ashi, small kinsuji scatter and round Boshi with hakikake brush up yakiba.

Special feature:Fujiwara Kanenaga is a stream of the Tegai school.
The founder of the Tegai school started by Yamato Kaneuji.
The sword is very similar with Hidari Mutsu sword maker.
I think the hamon is very cloth so they are probably
some contact each other.
It is rare Yamato school item.

Koshirae :
Saya :black ishime ji saya.
Tsuba :on the Round shape iron Tsuba, some open work.
Menuki : A shishi dog is engraved by solid gold(probably)
Fuchikashira:on the silver plate, many spotts are dotted.
