Katana in Shirasaya.

Signature : Higo Kuni Yatsuhiro Ju Akamatsu Taro Kanetsugu Kinsei.
Heisei19Nen 8 Gatsu Kichijitsu(2007 August Lucky day)

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Saijyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Silver single Habaki.
Blade length : 85.2 cm or 33.54 inches.
Sori : 2.4 cm or 0.94 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 4.1cm or 1.61 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 3.52 cm or 1.38 inches.
Kasane : 0.83 cm or 0.32 inches.
Era : modern times(2007 August Lucky day).
Shape : Wide(4.1cm) abd thick Katana with Okissaki.
Jigane : Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach. Hadatatsu.
It is beautiful Jigane.
Hamon :The mixture of Ko Nie Deki and Nioideki. Choji Midare.
In Ha, there are many Ashi, Sunagashi and Kinsuji.
Boshi is Okissaki Midarekomi style.

Special feature: Akamatsu Taro Kanetsugu is one of a very popular modern swordsmiths
who lives at Yatsushiro in Kumamoto pref. His real name is Kimura Kanesada.
He was born in 1951 and learned under his father Kimura Kaneshige.
He is one of the students of Akamatsu Taro. The Akamatsu Taro
school uses original Tamahagane for making swords
so it is not difficult to see their characteristic from the jigane.
Kanetsugu mentioned by himself the blade as Kiyomaro Utsushi(copy of Kiyomaro)
In Hamon, there are many sunagashi and also kinsuji work.
Akamatsu Taroo school sword makers head of the school Kanetsugu and other students
cut the signature Akamatsu on the top of the name Kanehiro,
Kanemitsu, Kaneteru and Kaneyuki.
These sword makers are well repotted as cut well swords.
Especially good swords are engrave on the Tang as Kiyomaro utsushi.
