Katana : Izumi Kami Fujiwara Kaneshige

Katana in Shirasaya(NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Paper)

Signature : Izumi Kami Fujiwara Kaneshige.
Shinto:Jo saku ranking:Ryo wazamono cutting test ranking:Musashi.
The blade was polished by high ranking polisher.
Blade length : 70.75 cm or 27.85 inches.
Sori : 1.65 cm or 0.64 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.14cm or 1.23 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.04cm or 0.80 inches.
Kasane : 0.685 cm or 0.26 inches.
Era :Edo period Kanei era.
Shape : On the front 2 suji hi engraved and on the back 2 Gomabashi is engraved.
The blade is rather wide and thick with suitable sori and longer kissaki Kaei era style sword.
Jitetsu :Itame hada well grained with jinie attach strong well grained texture.
Hamon : From the haamachi, suguha hamon with thick nioikuchi and then notare
and gunome midare with thick nioikuchi and ashi work
In Hamon, there are many sunagashi and kinsuji scatter.
Boshi is round shape hakikake style.

Special feature : Izumi Kami Fujiwara Kaneshige is Echizen province and worked for Yanone maker who was called Tsuji Sukeuemon.
He made swords also and got th tytle Izumi Daijyo and then changed to Izumi Kami who worked for Dodo Izuminokami.
He was a master of the Kotetsu.
This blade is very bright hamon and well grained with jinie attach fantastic active temper line. inside of the Hamon, sunagashi and nice kinsuji work.
The blade looks like Kotetsu.
I think this blade is one of his nice swords.
