Katana: Kanesada (Shinto)

Katana in Shirasaya, with Koshirae.(NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Paper)

Signature : Kanesada (Shinto)

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Kaneada belongs to Jojo saku ranking.
The blade was polished
Habaki : Gold double foiled Habaki.
Blade length : 69.2 cm or 27.24 inches.
Sori : 1.5 cm or 0.59 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.96 cm or 1.16 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.18 cm or 0.85 inches.
Kasane : 0.66 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era : Edo period around Kanbun era.
Shape : Regular size Katana. There are Bo-Hi on both side.
Jitetsu : Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach. The Jigane is beautiful.
Hamon : Nie Deki Suguha with Ko-Ashi, soft Habuchi.
Boshi is round Hakikake shape.

Special feature : Kanemoto, Izumi kami Kanesada and Hachiya Kanesada
were active in Mino province. The Kanesada is decended from Hachiya Kanesada.
He made the sword from Muromachi to early Edo period.
This blade is nice shape, exeptional Jigane and nice Suguha Hamon.
The blade is also healthy.

Koshirae : brilliant gold Nashi-ji with gold Makie.
Tsuba : Round shape iron Tsuba, goose is engraved.
Fuchikashira : Iron, some design with gold color.
Saya : gold Nashi-ji Saya, flower is painted with gold Makie.
Menuki : ShiShi dog is engraved with gold.(probably solid gold)
