Katana in Shirasaya, with Koshirae (NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Paper) (NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Tousougu Paper for the koshirae)

Signature : Kanemoto (Magoroku) 2nd generation.

Explanation : Kanemoto (Magoroku 2nd generation) is the highest sword maker in Sue Koto and the most cut well sword.

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku, Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Kanemoto(Magoroku) belongs to Jyo-Jyo saku ranking.

Sue Koto : Saijyo-Saku ranking : Saijyo Oowazamono cutting test ranking : Mino province.
The blade was polished by high ranking polisher.
Blade length : 69.0 cm or 27.16 inches.
Sori : 0.8 cm or 0.31 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.20 cm or 1.25 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.22 cm or 0.87 inches.
Kasane : 0.65 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era : Muromachi period Kyo-roku era.1528-1531
Shape : The blade is Ubu nakago and wide, regulat thickness with long kissaki.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada and komokume hada mixed with Jinie attach and shirake-Utsuri appear clearly.
Hamon : Konie deki Notare hamon and both sides of the hamon are same like Muramasa.
The Hamon is very clear and bright.

Special feature : In Mino school, ther are many famous sword makers.
Kanemoto is the top ranking sword smith in Muromachi period.
The top group of Mino blades are high valuation.
Especialy Kanemoto is the top popularity in Mino school in Japan.
This blade is absolutely 2nd generation Magoroku Kanemoto.
At Mine there are many Kanemoto not Magoroku.
So it is very important even though Kanemoto genuine signature with NBTHK hozon paper not mentioned magoroku, the blade is not 2nd generation.
Anyway In Japan, Magoroku Kanemoto is remarked as the most cut well sword.
Kanemoto second generation Magoroku, the highest position
of MIno sword smith.
He learned from first generation Kanemoto.
He eventually get highly named for his disctinctive Sanbonsugi and Togariba hamon.
The producing time is from Daiei 3rd period to Tenon 7th year February 1538.
The style of first generation Kanemoto was passed down to second generation which much sharpness added.
He became Saijyo Owazamono work for his effort.
it is quite rare that the sword is Ubu nakago with one hole and good Jigane and bright hamon.
We recommend to ontain this top ranking sword.
