Katana in Shirasaya(55th NBTHK Juyo paper)

Signature : Mumei(Unjuu)

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Mumei(Unjuu) belongs to Saijyo saku ranking.
Habaki: gold foiled double Habaki.
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 69.6 cm or 27.40 inches.
Sori : 1.8 cm or 0.70 inches.
Mekugi : 3
Width at the hamachi : 3.01 cm or 1.18 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.31 cm or 0.90 inches.
Kasane : 0.70 cm or 0.27 inches.
Era : Late Kamakura period to early Nanbokucho period.
Shape : Wide and thick blade with large Sori. The Ookissaki blade.
Jitetsu : The mixture of Ko-Itame and Ko-Mokume.
The Jigane is clear. There are Utsuri.
Hamon : Ko-Nie Deki, Suguha with Ko-Ashi.
Boshi likes Sankaku Notare shape.

Special feature : From late Kamakura period to Nanbokucyo period,
there are some sword makers like Unji Unjyu at Bizen province.
These sword makers looks like Rai, Yamashiro and also Aoe style which is called Ugai school.
This sword has good meat which is called Hamaguri ha.(surface of clam round shape.)
This sword is very healthy fantastic nice Jigane and Hamon.
