Katana in Shirasaya with Koshirae (NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Paper)

Signature: (Kiritsuke) Katsujinken
Mumei (unsigned) attributed as Hatakeda Mitsumori.

Koto : Jyo-jyo saku ranking : Bizen province.

The blade was polished by high ranking polisher.
Habaki : Suaka cooper single Habaki.
Blade length : 68.2 cm or 26.85 inches.
Sori : 1.9 cm or 0.74 inches.
Mekugi:3
Width at the hamachi : 3.05 cm or 1.2 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 0.61 cm or 0.24 inches.
Kasane : 2.03 cm or 0.79 inches.
Era : Kamakura period Koan era.1278(734 years ago)
Shape : The blade is oosuriage mumei (cut shortened) rather wide and thick with deep sori nice looking shape.
Jitetsu : Koitame and mokume hada mixed with Utsuri appear slightly.
Hamon : Koniedeki Choji midare hamon brightly and ashi and long Kinsuji work.
Boshi small midsrekomi style.

Special feature : Hatakeda school which is located neighbor Ichimonji.
So the Hamon is very cloth both sword makers.
This blade is nice Choji midare brightly and also nice ashi, Yo and also long kinsuji scatter.
On the Nakago, the Kanji is written as Katsujinken.
Katsujinken means that samurai do not kill the enemy move around too much.
It is important to kill real bad person and use the sword must be use rightness.

Tsuba :On the round bamboo shaped iron Tsuba, bamboo leaves are engraved open work.
Fuchikashira :On the shakudo nanako plate, a tiger and bamboo leaves are engraved with gold color.
Saya : Black roiro saya.
Menuki : A tiger is engraved by solid gold.
