Katana in Shirasaya(NBTHK Hozon paper)

Signature : Koki 2602 nen Minamoto Yoshimume saku

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saki)This sword belongs to Jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : gold foiled single habaki.
Blade length : 66.2 cm or 26.06 inches.
Sori : 1.6 cm or inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.15 cm or 1.24 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.24 cm or 0.88 inches.
Kasane : 0.78 cm or 0.30 inches.
Era : Showa 15 nen (1940)
Shape : Wide and rather thcick blade. Nice shape Katana.
Jitetsu: Ko-Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach.
Hamon: Nie Deki, rounded Gunome Midare. Boshi is Midarekomi Hakikake shape.

Special feature : Minamoto Yoshimume was born in Ehime prefecture in1897.
He passed away in 1946. He won numerous awards. His real name is Takahashi Tokutaro.
He was a former authorized army swordsmith. He studied under Itsumi Yoshitaka, Enju Taro Kunitoshi
and Yokoyama Sukesda. He dedicated a multitude of swords to the shrine.
