Signature :Miyakawa Hidekazu Saku.
Manen Gannen 12 gatsu hi.(Edo Period Manen 1st year December) 1860,December.

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Miyakawa Hidekazu belongs to Jyo saku ranking.

The blade was polished by good polisher.
Habaki: Silver single habaki.
Blade length :70.6 cm or 27.79inches.
Sori : 1.4cm or 0.55inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi :3.1 cm or 1.22inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.15cm or 0.85inches.
Kasane : 0.62 cm or 0.24inches.
Era : Late Edo period Manen first year(1860) December.
Shape : The blade is rather wide and thick with suitable sori and longer kissaki.
Jitetsu :Koitame hada well grained with jinie attach nice texture.
Hamon : Niedeki suguha and boshi is midarekomi style yakisage.

Special feature : Miyakawa Hidekazu was a student of the 7th generation korekazu. afoter 10 years later, decree banning the wearing of swords was issued so he was obliged to stop making sword.
Back ground of the age:Sakurada mon gai no Hen.
Manen Gannen Tokugawa syogun top ranking officer Ii Naosuke Tairo was assassinated by Moto samurai and other 17 members.
