Katana in Shirasaya with Kohsirae

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 68.8cm or 27.09inches.
Sori : 1.7cm or 0.67inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.15cm or 1.24inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.3cm or 0.9inches.
Kasane : 0.8cm or 0.31inches.
Era : Edo period.
Shape : It is wide and thick sword with long ended boushi. It is round edge.
Jitetsu :Itame hada well grained with masa flow. The hada is clear.
Hamon : Nie base gunome midare with round end heads. There are some sharp parts with sunagashi and kinsuji works seen in the ha.
The boushi is round burned down style.

Special feature : This katana has many active characteristics.
It could be evaluated as Owariseki piece. It is wide and thick "meaty" sword.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : round shape iron Tsuba. signature: Fukui Jizaemon
Fuchi:Shakudo nanako plate, person and pine tree are engraved with gold color.
Kashira: black horn.
Saya : Black roiro Inro kizami saya.
Menuki : Shakudo with gold color. unknown design.
