Tachi in Shirasaya(NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Paper)

Signature : Mumei (Ko Naminohira)

Sayagaki: Satsuma kuni Ko-Naminohira, almost Ubu Mumei, long classical style. This blade is typical of Ko-Naminohira.
This blade is very nice. This blade was made before early Kamakura. by Mr. Tanobe in 2011.

The blade was polished.
Habaki:gold foiled double habaki.
Blade length : 87.8 cm or 34.56 inches.
Sori : 2.6 cm or 1.02 inches.
Mekugi : 3
Width at the hamachi : 3.05 cm or 1.20 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.08 cm or 0.81 inches.
Kasane : 0.72 cm or 0.28 inches.
Era : Late Heian period.
Shape : Long(87.8cm), beautiful shape Oo Tachi blade.
Jitetsu : Itame and Masame mixed with Jinie, soft Ko Nie, Nioukuchi.
Hamon : Hoso Suguha base with Ko-Gunome Midare. Double Ha.

Special feature : Ko-Naminohira was a swordsmith group in Satsuma province.
The founder of this school is Masakuni who came to Satsuma province from Yamato province.
This Tachi has Ireko-Shirasaya.
This blade is kept well up to now from the Heian period.
Unfortunately there is Homare-Kizu around the Monouchi part.
There are Sayagaki on both side. This blade is comparable to national treasure.
This blade was kept in shrine for a long time until Showa 20year(1945).
After that this blade was in the possession of Japanese sword collector. This is very valuable sword.
We highly recommended this blade.
