Katana : Mumei (Harumitsu)

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 63.5 cm or 25 inches.
Sori : 0.9 cm or 0.35 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.79 cm or 1.09 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.97 cm or 0.77 inches.
Kasane : 0.59 cm or 0.23 inches.
Era :Late Muromachi period.
Shape : Oosuriage mumei(cut shortened) with shallow sori and longer kissaki.
Jitetsu : Itame had well grained with jinie attach and Utsuri appear.
Hamon : Nioideki Cyoji midair with cyoji midair and in Ha, there are koashi(small ash).

Special feature : Bizen Koku Ju Osafune Harumitsu was working from Muromachi Meio era to late Muromachi period.
1558. at that time, there several Harumitsu were working for instance, Jyuro daemon Jo Harumitsu, Goro daemon Jyo Harumitsu, Jyuro daemon Harumitsu.
This blade doesn't have Zokumyo but from the very fine Jigane, the sword was made by customs order sword.
Harumitsu is special feature that the Hamon from Monouchi area, becomes midarekomi style.
Harumotsu draw a line of the Kiyomitsu and Sukewsada mass productive items.
I have never seen bad quality of the Harumitsu.
This sword is also very attractive fine Jigane and Utsuri and also hamon.
Probably the owner of the sword so many years ago, some high ranking Samurai Hol d this sword with Tachi mounting.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : On the iron stub which looks like crane design.
Fuchikashira : On the copper plate, the rim is engraved crane by syakudo with gold color.
Saya : black roar saya.
Menuki : A bird is engraved with gold color.
