Katana: Mumei (Kaga no kami Sadanori)

Katana in Shirasaya, with Koshirae (NBTHK Hozon paper)

Signature:Mumei(unsigned) attributed as Kaga no kami Sadanori.

The blade was polished by high ranking polisher.
Habaki: Silver single foil habaki
Blade length : 69.84 cm or 27.49 inches.
Sori : 1.5cm or 0.59inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.98cm or 1.17inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.08cm or 0.82inches.
Kasane : 0.66cm or 0.26inches.
Era : Edo period Kanbun era.
Shape : The blade is rather wide and thick with suitable sori nice looking shape.
Jitetsu :Koitame had well grained with jinie attach beautiful texture.
Hamon : Niedeki gunome midair with thick nioikuchi
and in Ha, there are many sunagashi and kinsuji scatter.

Special feature : This sword is attributed as Kaga no Kami Sadanori with healthy blade.
He was born at Kikuchi area Higo province and moved to Settsu province in order to
study Inoue Shikai. He worked so many years.
His swords sometimes Gunome midair hamon with thick nioikuchi and suguha noter like his master's.
This sword is healthy without Kizu and also good work.

Koshirae :
Tsuba :On the round shaped iron Tsuba, big fan is engraved open work.
Fuchikashira :On the tiny ishimeji, some design are painted by gold color.
Saya : black ishimeji saya.
Menuki : a dragon is engraved by copper plate.
