Katana in Shirasaya(NBTHK Hozon Paper)

Signature : Mumei (Uda Kunimune)

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saki)This sword belongs to Jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : silver single habaki.
Blade length : 60.1 cm or 23.66 inches.
Sori : 1.5cm or 0.59 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.55cm or 1.00 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.97cm or 0.77 inches.
Kasane : 0.56 cm or 0.22 inches.
Era : Early Muromachi period, around Ouei era.
Shape: Osuriage Mumei, short Katana with deep Sori.
Jitetsu: Itame Hada grained Hadadachi. Masa Nagare.
Hamon: Nie Deki Gunome Midare and O-Gunome mix.
There are Tobiyaki. It is rustic atmosphere.
There are many Sunagashi and Kinsuji.
Boshi is Notare and Sansaku-fu Yakizume style.

Special feature : Uda Kunimumel was originated in Uda area Yamato province. After,
Ko Nyudo Kunimitsu moved to Ettchu area. They were working at Nanbokucho period
and this school continued to Muromachi period (ouei era).
Early works are many rough Nie deki blades. The Hamon undulates high and low.
The Sori is deep and elegant shape. This blade was judged as Uda Kunimube by the NBTHK. This blade possess the temperament of Soshu-den.

Koshirae:
Tsuba: Iron Tsuba, Japanese plum is engraved with open work. Higo Tsuba.
Saya: Nice Kairagi Saya.
Fuchikashira: Shakudo, Shishi dog and peony is engraved with gold color.
Menuki: Shakudo, peony is engraved with gold and silver color.
