Katana: Mumei (Kanefusa)

Signature : Mumei (Kanefusa)

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 68.4 cm or 26.92 inches.
Sori : 1.4 cm or 0.55 inches.
Mekugi : 3
Width at the hamachi : 3.19 cm or 1.25 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.40 cm or 0.94 inches.
Kasane : 0.79 cm or 0.31 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period. Around Eiroku. 1558.
Shape : Osuriage Mumei. There are Bohi on both side.
Wide and thick with Sori and long Kissaki.
Jitetsu : Itame hada well grained with jinie attach. There are Shirake fu Utsuri.
Hamon : Nie deki Suguha. Deep Nioikuchi. There are many Ashi and Yo.
Boshi is Midarekomi style.

Special feature : On the surface of this katana, it resembles the blade of Rai school.
But from this Suguha and work of Ha, it apprise as Kanehusa. There are Tobi yaki. It is Kanefusa's masterpiece.
Kanefusa school was worked around the Tensho era
in Muromachi period. Kanefusa (also pronounced Kanebo in Japanese)
was a swordsmith school in Yamato province.
