Katana in Shirasaya with Koshirae(NBTHK Hozon Paper)

Signature : Mumei (Mihara)

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jyo ranking.
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 69.4 cm or 27.32 inches.
Sori : 2.6 cm or 1.02 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.0 cm or 1.18 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.1 cm or 0.82 inches.
Kasane : 0.57 cm or 0.22 inches.
Era : Early Muromachi period.
Shape : Regular size Katana with large Sori. Nice shape Katana.
Jigane : Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Suguha. Boshi is Hakikake shape.

Special feature : Mihara school floursished in Bingo Mihara province.
The group of Kamakura period to Nanbokucho period was called Ko-Mihara.
The group of early Muromachi to Middle Muromachi period was called Mihara.
The group of middle Muromachi to late Muromachi period was called Sue-Mihara.
This blade was made around early Muromachi period(1400).
The Mihara school made Suguha blade. There is only few signature's blade.
This blade has the Utsuri. The Kissaki is Hakikake.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : Round shape iron Tsuna with open work.
Saya : Black Roiro Saya.
Fuchi : Black hone. Kashira: Shakudo with engraving.
Menuki : Shakudo, family crest is engraved with gold color.
