Katana in Shirasaya (NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Paper)

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 70.9cm or 27.91inches.
Sori: 1.1cm or 0.43 inch.
Mekugi : 3
Width at the hamachi : 3.12cm or 1.23inches.
Width at the Kissaki: 2.19cm or 0.86 inches.
Kasane : 0.73cm or 0.29inches.
Era : Late Kamakura period.
Shape : It is O-suriage mumei sword it is wide and thick kissaki long katana.
Jitetsu : Koitame had well grained with jinie attached. It is clear jigane with stick like utsuri seen.
Hamon : Nie ground, deep nioiguchi suguha with nijyuba and uchinoke.

Special feature : This sword is wide and thick nice shape.
The jigane is well grained. It could be attributed as late Kamakura period sword.
The deep nioi suguha line is very active. There are kuichigai ba seen.
By first glance, it could be attributed as Taima. If it is polished,
it would look sharp and clear.
It could also be seen as Jyuyo sword from the width and thickness.
