Katana in Koshirae

Signature : Mumei (*There is Hagire)
The blade was polished.
Habaki: Copper single foiled gold inlayed habaki
Blade length : 71.4 cm or 28.11 inches.
Sori : 1.1 cm or 0.43 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.66 cm or 1.05 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.70 cm or 0.67 inches.
Kasane : 0.61 cm or 0.24 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period.
Shape : It is O-suriage mumei with shallow sori. The kissaki is regular size.
Jitetsu : Itame hada well grained with jinie attached. There is kizu appearing.
Hamon : Nie structure notare with mixture of gunome midare. There is Nijyuba appearing. Kissaki is notare style sharp at the tip and turns back deely.
There is a hagire fatal flaw 20 cm up from hamachi.

Special feature : This piece is most likely made in late Muromachi period by the jigane and hamon style.
Regretfully, there is hagire 20 cm up from hamachi.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : Round shape iron tsuba with amida file pattern.
Fuchikashira : Copper plate with wave pattern engraved.
Saya : Black roiro saya
Menuki : Shi-shi dog deisgn engraved and inlayed with gold.
