Katana in Shirasaya(Kurashiki museum estimation paper)

Signature : Mumei(Higo Daijo Sadakuni)

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Mumei(Higo Daijo Sadakuni) belongs to Jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 71.5 cm or 28.14 inches.
Sori : 1.4 cm or 0.55 inches.
Mekugi : 3
Width at the hamachi : 3.32 cm or 1.30 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.43 cm or 0.95 inches.
Kasane : 0.69 cm or 0.27 inches.
Era : Edo period, around Kanbun era(1661-1672).
Shape : Wide and thick Katana with nice Sori.
There are Futasuji Hi on both side. Boshi is long.
Jitetsu : Ko-Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Gunome Midare with deep Nioikuchi.
There are soft Ashi. Boshi is Notare Gunome Midare, Saki Togari gokoro.

Special feature : This blade is Mumei. But the shape is nice.
At a glance, this blade looks like old Sekishu school.
The Kurashiki museum appraised as Higo Daijo Sadakuni.
Higo Daijo Sadakuni is the sword smith of Echizen province.
He succeded in Keicho era.
We guess that this blade remind Hojoji school.
This blade is magnificent and healthy.
