The blade was polished.
Blade length : 69.7 cm or 27.44 inches.
Sori : 1.3 cm or 0.51 inches.
Mekugi : 3
Width at the hamachi : 2.86 cm or 1.12 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.93 cm or 0.75 inches.
Kasane : 0.72 cm or 0.28 inches.
Era : Late Kamakura period to early Nanbokucho period.
Shape : The blade is oosuriage Mumei(cut shortened) and rather wide and long kissaki(point) nice looking sword.
Jitetsu : Itame hada well grained with jinie attached, and some Oohada of Hadadatsu is appear.
Hamon : Nie deki suguha with koashi, sunagashi and kinsuji.
Boshi is big round shaped with hakikake style.

Special feature : Shikkake School of Yamato province prospered present Tenri City in Nara pref.
Five principal swordsmith schools prospered in Yamato province: Tegai, Shikkake, Taema, Senjuin and Hosho.
Norinaga is thought as the substantial founder of Shikakke school.
Dated tanto in 1319, the third year of Bunpo era in late Kamakura period still survive at the age of 69.
Counting backward, Norinaga was born in 1270, the seventh year of Bunei era in Kamakura period.
Later generations Norinaga forged sword to the Muromachi period.
This katana has precious Kinpun mei(gold powder Signature) of Hon-a with kao.
