Katana in Shirasaya, with Koshirae(NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Token.)

The blade was polished
Habaki: Gold foiled double habaki.
Blade length : 74.8 cm or 29.44 inches.
Sori : 2.0 cm or0.78 inches.
Mekugi: 3
Width at the hamachi : 2.75 cm or 1.08 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.66 cm or 0.65 inches.
Kasane : 0.74 cm or 0.29 inches.
Era :Late Heian period.Eien era. about 1000 years ago.
Shape : The blade is oosuriage mumei(cut shortened)
Jitetsu :Itame had and oo item had well grained with masanagare with jinie attach
also chikei work and easy to see the texture well.
Hamon : Konie deki suguha and notare and also komidare hamon.
In Ha, there are many sunagashi, kinsuji work. Boshi is Hakikake style.

Special feature : Ko-Hoki school started by Yasutsuna
and his son Sanemorri who were working at Heian era(834).
At that period, Shimane and Tottori area were well known
Tamahagane productive places. So from ancient era,
many sword makers were making swords even modern times.
This sword was judged as Ko ho-ki by NBTHK shins which was made
more than 1000 years ago historical treasure sword.
Especially Ooitame hada which remind us old koto blade with Chikei and jinie.
The hamon is very soft feeling attractive hataraki.

Koshirae :
Tsuba :On the round shape iron Tsuba, 12 Yanone are engraved open work.
Fuchikashira :On the syakudo plate, flowers are engraved with gold color.
Saya : dark red brown color.
Menuki : ink stone and a roll of paper are engraved with gold color.
