Katana : Mumie attributed as Koyama Munehira

Signature: Mumie attributed as Koyama Munehira.

The blade was polished by good polisher.
habaki : Gold foiled double habaki.
Blade length : 67.0cm or 26.37 inches.
Sori : 2.0 cm or 0.78 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.80cm or 1.10 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.59cm or 0.62 inches.
Kasane : 0.67 cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : Edo period Bunka era(1804)
Shape : The sword is suriage with bo-hi are engraved both sides of the blade.
Jitetsu : Koitame had well grinned with jinie attach with Utsuri appear.
Hamon : Niedeki gunome midair and cyoji midair mixed with sunagashi and small kinsuji work.
Boshi is midarekomi style.

Special feature : Koyama Munehira and his brother Munetsugu both called Soubei.
Both sword makers made Gunome and Cyoji midair hamon and midarekomi boshi.
They also moved Ise Kuwana province by order Daimyo Matsudaira.
Ay NBTHK paper says that the blade is Koyama munehira.
If the sword is Munehira, the hamon is the top quality of his sword.
The blade looks like Koto Hatakeda school.
Probasbly the blade is very good and remind us Koto top quality so the blade was changed to Koto blade.

Koshirae : Handachi Koshirae
Tsuba : Rhombic iron stub.
Fuchikashira : Iron plate.
Saya : Black ishimeji saya.
Menuki : Doragon is engraved by brass plate.

Historical background : 1808 later Edo Bunka era, Mamiya Rinzo found narrow sea while he was making expedition Karafuto area and named Mamiya channel.
