Katana : Noshu Seki no ju Kanetoki

Signature : Noshu Seki no ju Kanetoki. (Keicho Shinto.)

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 70.14 cm or 27.61 inches.
Sori : 2.1 cm or 0.82 inches.
Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.72 cm or 1.46 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 3.04 cm or 1.19 inches.
Kasane : 0.64 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era : About Keicho era.(about 1596)
Shape : This blade is very wide and rather massive Katana with
very long and wide Kissaki.
Jitetsu : Itame and Mokume mix, and works very well, with Jinie and Chikei attach. There is soft Utsuri.
Hamon : Nie based, Notare hamon and Suguha style mix.
There are Sunagashi and Yo in Ha.
Boshi is round shaped on the Sashi-omoteside, and Midarekomi style on Sashi-ura side. Kaeri is deep.

Special feature : There are some swordsmiths who engraved signature Kanetoki, from early Muromachi period to ealry Edo period.
This Kanetoki was in Keicho era (about 1596).
This blade’s shape is very wide and rather massive, with very long Kissaki.
It’s rare shape. Condition is rather healthy, and this blade has passed NBTHK Hozon Paper.
Historical background: In 1600, Battle of Sekigahara break out.
In this battle, Tokugawa Ieyasu won. And Tokugawa Shogunate started in 1603.
