Around Genji era(1864-1865) This blade is nice Bizen Den.
Blade lenght is 77.6 cm by Mr. Yoshikawa Koen in February 1995

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Sekido Fujiwara Korekazu belongs to Jyojyo Saku ranking.
The blade was polished
Blade length : 77.6 cm or 30.55 inches.
Sori : 1.5 cm or 0.59 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi :3.12 cm or 1.22 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.11 cm or 0.83 inches.
Kasane : 0.85 cm or 0.33 inches.
Era : Late Edo period around Genji era(1864-1865)
Shape : There are Hi on both side. Wide and thick blade with Sori.
Jitetsu :Ko-Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attached. The Jigane isbeautiful.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Choji Miadre with many Ashi. This is nice Soshu Den blade.
There are Sunagashi and Kinsuji.

Special feature : Sekido Korekazu was born as a nephew of Kato Chounsai Tsunatoshi,
learned from him and he succeeded the Ishido family as the seventh generation,
he passed away in 1894 aged 75. He made Sodenbizen den which is convined with Bizen and Sosty den style.
First generation Korekazu made Bizenden style with nice Utsuri but 7th generation Korekazu made swords like Sosyu style.
This sword was made meiji 2nd year but at that time, demanding Japanese swords are very few.
Meiji Government decided to prohibit to make Japanese swords.
A lot of sword makers gave up his job.
This blade has nice Choji Midare Hamon.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : Round shape iron Tsuba, flowers are engraved with gold color.
Fuchikashira : Copper, tiger is engraved.
Saya : Black Ishime Ji Saya.
Menuki : Kiri mon is engraved with gold color.
