The blade was polished.
Blade length : 71.7 cm or 28.22 inches.
Sori : 1.90 cm or 0.74 inches.
Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.10 cm or 1.22 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 0.70 cm or 0.27 inches.
Kasane : 1.97 cm or 0.77 inches.
Era : Late Edo period.
Shape : The blade is regular sized with deep sori nice looking shape.
Jitetsu : koitame had well grained like Muji style.
Hamon : Niedeki gunome midair with ash and modarekomi boshi.

Special feature : The signature is mentioned as Suishinshi Masahide.
but I think the signature is not reliable.But the hamon is very similar with Suishinshi Masahide good work.
I think Family which was used the family crest (chigai kaki family cress) presented the treasure Japanese sword for his son before going to the war front.
I think the son must be decided his importance of his mission.

Historical background: during watt time.
